    The carbon consulting practice are looking to appoint a highly motivated senior consultant in the UK to support on a variety of exciting projects, principally for our private sector clients. This is a delivery and project management role engaging directly with the market to support major sustainability projects to our clients. It will involve collaborating with global Anthesis sustainability experts and with other Technical Consultants not only to deliver great projects but also to support in developing new innovative ways of supporting our clients’ sustainability journey.

    Specific responsibilities include:

    • Develop, sell and deliver existing and new carbon consulting services, working directly with clients throughout this process. You will be providing leading support on progressive carbon management. Anthesis has developed an enviable reputation in providing leading insight and delivery and the area of carbon management is no exception.
    • Write proposals for new business, in collaboration with the existing team
    • Be independent in engaging with a wide variety of clients, often in senior roles within their business.

    This role will work alongside our existing Strategy & Communications practice members in the UK on a variety of projects, carrying out research/quantitative analysis, advising clients, contributing to the development of new business, managing projects, as well as writing reports and presentations.
     
    Responsibilities will include supporting our client-facing team to analyse and develop content for sustainability reports, ESG reports and related annual submissions.     Summary of Role

    Anthesis, a rapidly growing global sustainability consultancy, is looking for an Engineer to support our growing Analytics team, which supports Anthesis’ global offerings by bringing innovative sustainability solutions to market.

    As part of the Analytics team, your role will include analyzing sustainability data, quantifying environmental footprints (including carbon and water inventories and life cycle impacts), developing data solutions and models, and working with team members in North America and Europe to provide clients with actionable insights to inform their sustainability strategy.

    Your projects and clients will span across a diverse set of industries, ranging from Fortune 500 companies to boutique brands, and require engagement with clients, and their suppliers, around the world.

    Responsibilities

    • Project delivery involving analytics-driven deliverables, including data collection and analyses of environmental metrics, dashboards, spreadsheets, and reports
    • Communicate complex technical ideas to non-technical stakeholders
    • Work with the internal Anthesis Analytics team to improve business-facing data collection and analytics tools
    • Participate in development of the company’s innovative processes & tools to collect, analyze, and visualize sustainability metrics
    • Support colleagues in all areas of the business and work with teammates across the globe.

    Requirements

    The ideal applicant must be able to demonstrate excellent quantitative and technical skills, an entrepreneurial attitude, and be highly motivated, in addition to the following minimum qualifications:

    • BA/BS degree in mathematics, statistics, engineering, science, economics or related field or equivalent practical experience; with a relevant Master’s degree preferred
    • Proficiency and demonstrated experience in working with environmental data sets
    • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
    • Ability to abstract information requirements from real-world processes to understand the information flows
    • Interest and desire to work in the sustainability field
    • Proficiency and experience in analyzing and manipulating data in Excel

    Desirable skills:

    • Ability to conduct complex impact analysis with limited/imperfect data and use the results to influence cross functional business decisions
    • Experience in the environmental sustainability sphere, covering topics such as life cycle assessments and sustainability reporting (e.g. CDP, DJSI, GRI, corporate sustainability reports)
    • Excellent writing skills
    • Experience supporting supplier audits, environmental programs, and supplier capacity development
    • Proficiency with Tableau highly desirable
    • Knowledge of SQL databases and/or VBA

    As a Sr. Engineer – Regulatory Compliance, this is your unique opportunity to set your mark on the leading-edge. Anthesis is recruiting for a full time position to evaluate, validate and manage supplier-provided product environmental technical data and information. To be successful, familiarity with chemistry, part and material substance composition, lab analysis techniques, Bill of Material (BOM) structures, and relevant global product environmental compliance laws and regulations will all be desirable.  You will also develop and implement processes necessary to ensure compliance with worldwide hazardous substances regulations (ROHS/REACH), conflict minerals and related areas.

    How you will contribute:

    Primary responsibilities

    • Review, validate and process supplier-provided material composition content information including lab reports for mechanical, electronics, and electrical parts according to defined protocols;

    • Track supplier performance and provide periodic metrics reports;

    • Audit laboratory reports and report findings to client;

    • Onboard, train and assist suppliers on how to prepare and submit material declarations. Prepare various internal and customer reports based on supplier-provided full material disclosure (FMD) information;

    • Collect and validate data related to conflict minerals, rare earth minerals, and other critical substances;

    • Assess risk associated with material composition of parts and assemblies;

    • Define and deliver business processes to collect and manage other environmental, carbon, and sustainability-related supplier data.

    • Normal work hours will be first (day) shift but you may be asked to work on another shift as the needs of a project demand.

    Other Responsibilities

    • Document material and substance content of parts and materials based on technical sources;
    • Develop and document business processes to satisfy client needs;
    • Maintain project records, prepare technical and other reports as requested to document progress and results achieved. Recommend and implement changes for continuous improvement;
    • Review and approve applicable Part Change Requests, Specification Requests and Revisions;
    • Recommend process and tool improvements to increase material declaration accuracy and reduce cycle times;
    • Contribute sound professional advice and creative new ideas, concepts and approaches relative to new project design and development;
    • Counsel, train and check the work of junior engineers/engineers and technical support personnel in technical areas as required or requested.

    Requirements

    • Chinese and/or Japanese spoken and written technical language capability

    • Excellent command of both spoken and written English

    • Electronics industry experience, knowledge of electronics manufacturing, bills of materials (BoMs), and materials typically used in electronics manufacturing

    • Candidate must possess at least a Professional License (Passed Board/Professional License Exam) in Engineering (Chemical/Materials/Metallurgical/Environmental) or equivalent experience.
