Anthesis, a leading global pure-play sustainability advisory and solutions firm and one of Europe’s fastest-growing private companies, has appointed Tristan Craddock as Global M&A Director.

In this newly created role, Tristan is responsible for developing and executing Anthesis’ M&A strategy, including sourcing complementary businesses with aligned purposes and a fit to Anthesis’ growth plans.

Reporting to CEO Stuart McLachlan and joining the Global Leadership Team, Tristan will work closely with the Board and broader management team to identify, transact, and integrate key value-enhancing M&A opportunities. Tristan’s appointment is in response to Anthesis’ growth ambitions following the recent announcement of the acquisition of a majority stake in the company by global investment firm Carlyle. The investment will reinforce Anthesis’ industry-leading position in end-to-end sustainability solutions through international expansion, broadening the company’s service offering and continuing its successful buy-and-build strategy.

In the last ten years, nineteen purpose-led businesses have chosen to join Anthesis, coalescing around our shared culture, purpose-led ambitions and a focus on driving impact towards a just transition. Tristan’s experience of M&A and understanding of Anthesis’ strategy and vision, as well as his expertise in successfully delivering transformational change, is a highly valuable addition to our Global Leadership Team.

Anthesis CEO

Tristan joins Anthesis following two years as a Non-Executive Director for the organisation through his role as Partner at Palatine, an impact investor in Anthesis, which saw him support Anthesis in completing six add-on investments including the recent additions of impact-led creative change agency, Charlescannon and leading global ESG advisory firm, Wallbrook.

Tristan brings over 15 years of experience in private equity investing supporting businesses’ investment and growth strategies, most recently as part of Palatine’s Impact Fund, where he was focused on identifying and supporting companies making a positive social or environmental change. Tristan also spent five years at EY where he qualified and worked in the M&A and Performance Improvement teams.

Tristan Craddock, Global M&A Director at Anthesis, said, I am delighted to join Anthesis’ Global Leadership Team and continue to drive and deliver its ambitious acquisition strategy and further strengthen its unique position as an industry leader. Having been part of Anthesis’ story for the past two years, I’ve been impressed with its purpose-led ambitions to deliver positive impact and value creation to society through supporting its clients in building more impactful businesses, as well as achieving financial growth at scale.
