Situation

Since 2013, Anthesis has led the Alliance (EUISSCA) and its members in defining and pursuing their vision of “leading the industry in enhancing and promoting supply chain sustainable practices across utilities and suppliers.” Anthesis works directly with the Alliance members, the Executive Committee, and the Alliance Office to set the organisations strategic direction and then ensure its effective implementation.

The Alliance wanted to improve the performance of all electric utility members in three key areas: successful practice adoption, supplier engagement and sustainability maturity.

Solution

Anthesis has staffed the Office of the Executive Director since 2013 with a multi-disciplinary team to drive the organisational aims. We have driven active engagement of the members to create an effective community of practice, and increase recognition of the value of sustainability.

Our experts educated members on on the understanding and adoption of sustainable practices from specifications to SF6 alternative to end of life best practices. We also supported the adoption and use of our annual supplier survey with 100% of utility members using the survey with hundreds of their high impact suppliers.

Impact

Anthesis has supported the Alliance in its continual growth of membership with 20 utilities representing over $170 Billion (USD) in annual spend and over 50 Supplier Affiliate Members. The members’ awareness and adoption of best practices has significant impacts on the industry’s value chain. Further, the early adoption by procurement teams facilitate and drive the wider adoption of sustainable practices across the industry as a whole.
