Location: Remote - USA or Canada based

Contract: Full-time

Remuneration Range: $56,000 - 80,000 (Please note salary is paid in local currency USD/CAD)

Key Responsibilities  

  • Manage the delivery of small client engagements or project subtasks focusing on improving ESG performance and disclosure 
  • Support project managers in conducting primary and secondary research and analysis on sustainability leadership practices, and emerging issues and trends in a variety of industry sectors utilizing a wide range of sources, including web searches, interviews and other methodologies 
  • Support senior colleagues in the development of work plans, schedules and budgets for the delivery of client projects and proposal development 
  • Draft reports and presentations that convey key messages to a variety of stakeholders and inform strategic decision-making 
  • Work on several projects at the same time, often with different clients on multiple workstreams, including CDP reporting and rater and ranker disclosures 
  • Support clients in the development of meaningful public disclosure strategies that both tell their stories in an authentic way and optimize their scoring in various ESG standards, frameworks, and assessment platforms 
  • Support clients in gathering data and information and translating key sustainability messages into mediums for different target audiences (e.g., investor reporting frameworks, ESG rater and ranker platforms, customer surveys, employees, etc.) 
  • Work with clients to prioritize, evaluate and improve their ESG performance through strategic, programmatic and disclosure recommendations 
  • Perform desktop research, internal and external stakeholder engagement, data analysis and interpretation 
  • Deliver tasks on time and within budget and assist project managers to ensure that projects perform against targets and deadlines 
  • Be part of global project teams with colleagues in different offices and time zones 
  • Additional areas of engagement could include: 
    • ESG strategy, materiality assessment, goal setting, road map development and implementation 
    • Governance, reporting, and disclosure 
    • Investment strategy and portfolio due diligence 
    • Employee and supplier engagement 
    • Net zero carbon, circular business models, and zero waste programs   
    • Equity, diversity, inclusion, justice, and community engagement programs 
    • Multi-stakeholder collaborations and/or NGO partnerships

Summary of Role:

We are looking for a highly motivated Consultant to support our Strategy Practice in North America. Your role will be to lead delivery of consulting projects and support business development efforts to create lasting client relationships and improve client ESG performance. Your projects and clients may span a diverse set of industries, ranging from Fortune 500 companies to boutique brands and start-ups. You will leverage our service teams and subject matter experts to ensure clients receive our best solutions and technical advice. You will be joining an engaged, collaborative community that approaches its work with energy and optimism.

Key Requirements & Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant subject(s) and/or 0-4 years of relevant work experience
  • Experience with two of the following disclosures: CDP (Climate Change, Water Security, Forests), S&P Global CSA (DJSI), MSCI, Sustainalytics, ISS, EcoVadis, etc.
  • Familiarity with the following reporting standards or frameworks: GRI, SASB, TCFD
  • Experience working with data sets and demonstrated ability to analyze, interpret and communicate findings
  • Demonstrable passion for, and commitment to improving sustainability
  • A willingness to learn new skills and work collaboratively with others in a dynamic work environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for working with both internal and external clients
  • Clear and concise written communications
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality
  • Exceptional organization and time management skills
  • Proven research and analytical skills (from academia or work experience), with proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to think and work independently, while also being an enthusiastic and proactive team player
  • Well-presented with a professional manner to act as a brand ambassador
