Role: Consultant II – Climate Risk Analytics

Location: Remote - USA or Canada based

Practice Area: Climate

Contract: Full-time

Remuneration Range: $65,000 - 80,000 (Please note that salary is paid in local currency USD/CAD)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop framework for climate risk through quantification of company’s exposure to climate risk including data quality, scenario analysis, heat maps, and impact analysis.
  • Support in building out physical and transition risk models, including the quantification of financial and business implications
  • Identify relevant data to source regarding transition risks; interpret data to evaluate the accuracy and relevance for use in climate risk scenario analysis and impact models.
  • Explore new datasets for transitions risks, interpret their underlying assumptions, and identify ways to leverage the data to quantify potential implications.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis and interpretation of third-party climate models.
  • Support the ongoing development of internal risk assessment tools.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for climate risk data and analytics.

Summary of Role:

The Climate Risk Analyst will be aligned with the Climate Risk and TCFD Team with a focus on climate risk data analysis. This role will be instrumental in establishing our climate risk modelling framework and quantifying potential risk exposure across our clients’ operations. This position will work collaboratively with our Climate Risk scenario analysis group to strengthen our approach to modelling and quantification of impacts. This will require the applicant to think creatively and develop complex models to meet our client’s needs.

Key Requirements:

  • Strong data analysis skills.
  • Be able to translate highly technical data into a format that is meaningful for clients.
  • The ability to think creatively and strategically to best capture our clients’ needs.
  • Familiarity with transition and physical climate data.
  • Experience in developing/maintaining databases.
  • Ability to research, analyse, document, and present data in a concise and comprehensive manner.

  • Previous background or passion for sustainability preferred.
  • Curious, globally minded, and enthusiastic.
  • Organised, methodical, and analytical.
  • Desire to continuously learn and grow; continuously working to move the realm of climate scenario analysis forward.
  • Effective time management and organisational skills. Ability to respond positively to pressure and take a flexible approach to a dynamic, fast moving and changing work environment.
  • Work well with a wide range of people on a global basis.
  • Proactive with the ability and confidence to use initiative.
  • Well presented with a professional manner to act as a brand ambassador which flexes and is appropriate for the specific client environment and circumstances.
