Role: Financial Accountant – UK

Location: Central Bristol - Hybrid Working

Contract: Full-time

Remuneration Range: Competitive

Key Responsibilities

  • All tax reporting duties for the UK companies e.g. VAT and PAYE
  • Create a strong financial control environment including preparing and maintaining balance sheet reconciliations
  • Ensure accounting policies and treatments are compliant with FRS101 and International Financial Reporting Standards
  • Preparation of statutory accounts
  • Treasury management and completion of cashflow forecasts
  • Supporting and Liaising with External Auditors
  • Controls and process improvement including standardisation of policies/ manuals
  • Improve and monitor filing and documentation within finance.
  • Working closely with external payroll provider to ensure accurate and timely payments
  • Supporting FC on the integration of new acquisitions into the UK business
  • Review customer/ supplier contracts
  • Reviewing purchase ledger and expense runs and creating BACS payment runs in HSBC

Summary of role

The UK Financial Accountant is a vital part of the finance function at Anthesis UK and covers multiple responsibilities. Reporting into the UK Financial Controller, you will be responsible for a variety of accounting duties, essential to the successful running of the finance team. The role will involve all internal and external returns, dealing with external auditors, tax compliance and statutory accounts preparation. Day to day responsibilities will include filing, treasury management, payroll and balance sheet reviews.

Key Requirements

  • Required: Accounting – Qualified ACA, ACCA (or qualified by experience);
  • Required: Excel- moderate-advanced. Confident using formulae and modelling scenarios.
  • Required: HMRC experience
  • Desired: NetSuite experience.
  • Strong attention to detail
