Role: Group Financial Controller

Location: Flexibly remote from either Bristol, Oxford or London

Practice Area: Finance

Contract: Permanent, Full-Time

Remuneration Range: Competitive

Key Requirements:

  • Experience working in the professional services sector.
  • Qualified Accountant (ACA) with at least 8 years’ post qualified experience.
  • Commercially focused to support the CFO/Board in the Group’s growth aspirations.
  • Excellent IFRS knowledge with strong technical accounting skills, particularly in the context of project accounting/revenue recognition with a good working knowledge of IFRS15 requirements.
  • Experience of international businesses in a multi-currency environment and associated accounting of foreign currencies according to IFRS reporting requirements.
  • Strong background in statutory accounts preparation and audit management.
  • Strong financial and accounting leadership skills to communicate with subsidiary operations.
  • Experience of overseeing global Treasury operations and bank compliance reporting
  • Experience of global tax including Transfer Pricing
  • Proactive self-starter with the ability to get stuck into the detail, roll up your sleeves and manage multiple priorities.

Desirable but not essential:

  • Experience working in a rapidly growing company.
  • Oracle Netsuite experience.
  • Accounting system, process design and implementation experience.
  • M&A experience and integration of acquisitions into businesses.
  • Change management experience.

Summary of Role:

We are looking for a dynamic, motivated and entrepreneurial Group Financial Controller to join our team. In this role, you’ll be the right-hand person to the Group CFO and will be a key member of the Global Finance Team.

Our business is growing rapidly and in this exciting opportunity you will be accountable for a wide variety of diverse and complex finance & accounting operations, across multiple geographies, including: integration of acquisitions; the annual audit, technical ownership of GAAP and tax compliance and input into the design and building of processes and systems, global treasury and cash management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and optimize Anthesis’s global ERP, Oracle NetSuite and groupwide banking systems.
  • Ensure adequate and robust financial controls are in place throughout the global organisation, implementing improvements where necessary and documenting into Limits of Authority matrix.
  • Develop strong relationships with the global finance team and support them in maintaining strong controls, accurate reporting and commercial finance/working capital management.
  • Prepare Group income statements, balance sheets and cash flows for internal use, submission to the PE Investor and banks, including the impact of acquisitions, as appropriate.
  • Deliver month end consolidation and related close deliverables to deadlines.
  • Key day to day contact for Banking partners, treasury management and reporting of covenant compliance.
  • Full annual consolidation and preparation of IFRS Group Financial Statements, managing the annual audit and liaison with tax advisors on reporting, planning and compliance.
  • Ensure timely implementation of and compliance with new International Financial Reporting Standards.
  • M&A due diligence support, including reviewing and advising on acquisition/fair value accounting and relevant integration activities.
  • Oversee Company Secretarial compliance for UK companies and accounting for Group Holding companies.
  • Manage Group Accountant, Finance Systems Manager and others as defined
  • Support CFO in financial information needs, due diligence preparation and related activities as required for Refinancing process.
