Role: Head of Digital Products

Location: Flexible remote within United Kingdom, with option to work from one of our key hub's in London, Bristol, Manchester or Oxford.

Contract: Permanent

Minimum Qualifications

  • A degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, a related field or equivalent practical experience;
  • 7+ years of relevant experience;
  • Previous experience within software release projects;
  • Strong commercial awareness;
  • Excellent analytical, prioritization and negotiating skills;
  • Leadership experience operating between software specialists and mainstream business; and,
  • Strong communication skills and experience with a track record of facilitating client meetings, workshops with large groups of stakeholders and delivering presentations.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience in a sustainability or consulting business environment; and,
  • An additional language would be an advantage, specifically Spanish and/or Catalan.

Summary of Role

Anthesis is recruiting for a new Head of Digital Product based in the UK. The primary responsibility will be to develop and deliver relevant aspects Anthesis’ emerging Digital Strategy., This includes the on-going development of existing digital products and exploring new digital products and service opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

The Head of Digital Product will work alongside the current Head of Software Development and will similarly report into the Community Lead on the UK Senior Leadership Team.

The focus will be to support the Anthesis goal to scale sustainability impact using digital. The preferred candidate will have a broad digital background and will be expected to be familiar with existing and emerging innovations in the digital space, the role will not involve software development.

In addition to a relevant track record, the successful candidate should demonstrate:

  • Agile working. Anthesis recognises that existing business processes will need to become more agile as they become more digitally mature. This will involve more agile working at an organisational level.
  • Experience of working within organisational, market-driven and commercial constraints. You know how to influence, challenge and coach. Be a collaborative and effective communicator, with experience of engaging internal and external stakeholders.
  • Financial ownership. You understand the marketplace, realising the benefit and persuading others that a product is the right one to develop or use. You know how to integrate a product with other services. You can ensure that products get used. You can realise benefits by linking work in progress back to the business case. You can build business cases based on user needs. You will be accountable for managing the pipeline and portfolio of digital products, including ERP via our NetSuite accounting system.
  • Life-cycle perspective. You know how to successfully lead teams through the full product development life cycle. You can develop sustainable digital business models. You can identify and deal with potential risks across or between all stages of the product life cycle.
  • Operational management. You keep abreast of industry best practice and can cascade ways of working. You know how to make operations efficient. You can act as the escalation point for major operational issues and champion operational management across the community. You can work closely with leaders of operational delivery teams in digital, data and technology.
  • Strategic ownership. You can develop a long-term vision and objectives. You are discerning and disciplined in focusing on what is important and most relevant. You know how to develop the capability of others.
  • Client focus. You know how to give direction on which tools or methods to use. You are experienced in meeting the needs of users across a variety of channels. You can bring insight and expertise in how user needs have changed over time to ensure these are met by the business. You know how to apply strategic thinking in how to provide the best service for the end user.

Requirements

The successful applicant will have relevant experience and a keen grasp of the technical requirements of the role. You will be expected to keep abreast of changing digital market dynamics and implement strategic and tactical initiatives in response to emerging opportunities.
