Legal Counsel

Role: Legal Counsel

Location: Remote - USA or Canada based

Practice Area: Legal

Contract: Full-time, permanent

Remuneration Range: $150,000 - 170,000 (Salary is paid in local currency USD/CAD)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working directly with the business to provide legal advice and support in defined areas
  • Identifying training needs with the business and developing/presenting tailored workshops
  • Developing a strong rapport with senior business leaders and their teams
  • Drafting and reviewing standard/non-standard forms of contracts and other commercial contracts with limited supervision
  • Preparing for and conducting more complex negotiations either individually or with appropriate support
  • Identifying areas requiring technical improvement and seeking to address this through further learning
  • Design and implementation of a contract management process
  • Develop and maintain an enterprise risk register and work closely and collaboratively with Group Risk & Commercial in relation to enterprise risk management
  • Manage corporate insurance policies & make arrangements for new/different policies based on business needs
  • Manage all company secretarial matters for the Anthesis North American business (filings, arrange statutory board meetings, etc.)

Key Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school & passing of the Bar Exam
  • Minimum of 5 years’ post-qualification experience
  • Experience in a private practice and in-house preferred
  • Proven background in transactions, corporate law, contract law, employment law, etc.
  • Knowledge of US and/or Canadian data privacy regulations and data protection agreements
  • Excellent negotiation & communication skills
  • Current license to practice law in the state of Colorado
  • High level of personal integrity, honesty, and interpersonal skills
  • Identified leadership potential to lead on various projects
  • Personal passion for sustainability
  • Have a global mindset and experience working with multiple regions and time zones
