As leader of the Sustainable Chemistry team, your role will include drive growth in the North American region, promote visibility of our capabilities through marketing and business development activities, and oversee the team and delivery of exceptional client value through projects and programs with primary focus on retail and consumer goods companies.

The team’s projects and clients will span across a diverse set of industries, ranging from Fortune 500 companies to boutique brands, and require engagement with clients, and in some cases their suppliers, around the world.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the North America (NA) Leadership Team to develop growth strategies for the Region and supporting the overall financial success of the Practice and Region by working collaboratively with other members of the Regional & Global Leadership team.
  • Develop a NA strategy for Sustainable Chemistry, working with the Global Practice Leader and other key stakeholders to ensure alignment with the Anthesis Global & Regional strategies.
  • Maintain overall accountability for sales, revenue, delivery and P&L of SC practice, reporting through the NA Management team.
  • Ensure delivery of exceptional client value to key clients in order to maximize regional growth and expansion efforts within key accounts.
  • Use your industry reputation and expertise to participate in, and deliver, high end consulting services to wide range of organizations.
  • Drive quality of delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain and fortify relationships with strategic alliance partners.
  • Foster the development of the team’s capabilities and expertise in line with client needs/market evolution.
  • Manage, mentor and coach members of the SC team.
  • Work closely with the marketing and commercial teams to increase the visibility and branding of Anthesis in NA.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Degree in chemistry, material science, or related discipline.
  • 15+ years of demonstrated experience in the retail and/or consumer goods industry.
  • Demonstrated evidence of successfully identifying, securing and retaining clients.
  • Manage P&L and financial accountabilities.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of chemicals used in personal care, cosmetics, textile/apparel, plastics, cleaning, electronics, building sector products.
  • Demonstrated knowledge on tools, drivers, and methods that support the design, evaluation and adoption of safer chemistry and more sustainable products.
  • Previous experience advising retailers and/or brands on integrating IT systems and business processes necessary to track, monitor, and address chemicals of concern in products and the supply chain.
  • Previous experience in working with global chemical regulations such as REACH, TSCA, and Prop 65.
  • Experience working with a range of business functions including C-Suite, NGOs, marketing, R&D, quality control, and procurement across complex supply chains.
