Senior Consultant – ESG Reporting & Communications

Role: Senior Consultant – ESG Reporting & Communications

Location: Remote - USA or Canada based

Practice Area: Strategy

Contract: Full-time

Remuneration Range: $80,000 - 100,000 (Please note that salary is paid in local currency USD/CAD)

Key responsibilities:

  • Project Management – As a Principal Consultant, you will be expected to manage the delivery of multiple projects (including materiality assessments and sustainability reports) on time, track financial performance, coordinate day-to-day project activities, and act as a primary client liaison. You could be managing several projects at any one time, each with their own project teams.
  • Client Management – You will be responsible for managing client expectations and optimize value through projects to drive continuous, strategic improvement.
  • ESG Reporting – You will be coaching clients on the evolving sustainability/ESG reporting landscape and supporting them in the development of meaningful public disclosure strategies. You will support the client in gathering data and information, shaping and developing their sustainability stories, and translating key sustainability messages into mediums for different target audiences (e.g., investors, customers, employees, etc.).
  • ESG Strategy and Brand Purpose Development – You will be guiding clients through a process of determining their sustainability priorities and developing communications action plans related to those priorities, using a combined approach of desktop research, internal and external stakeholder engagement, and the integration of advanced data analytics.
  • Creative Communication – You will need to be proficient and effective at communicating the client’s sustainability purpose, commitments, and performance, in a way that is credible and authentic, while balancing the technical and the creative aspects of reporting.
  • Business Development – You will be contributing to and developing proposals for potential clients and projects and represent Anthesis during interviews as the consultancy best positioned to support.

Key Requirements:

  • 5-7 years of experience as a sustainability practitioner/project manager, with experience leading sustainability reporting and/ or strategy development projects in an in-house role, in a consulting role, or in a communications firm.
  • Ability to communicate organizational impact effectively and accurately through multiple mediums.
  • Proficiency in some/all the following standards and frameworks: GRI, SASB, GRESB, TCFD, CDP, DJSI.
  • A personable and passionate individual.
  • Comfortable and confident liaising with key stakeholders across various levels.

Knowledge, Education & Desired Qualifications:

  • Previous background or passion for sustainability preferred.
  • Curious, globally minded, and enthusiastic.
  • Organised, methodical, and analytical.
  • Effective time management and organisational skills. Ability to respond positively to pressure and take a flexible approach to a dynamic, fast moving and changing work environment.
  • Work well with a wide range of people on a global basis.
  • Proactive with the ability and confidence to use initiative.
  • Well presented with a professional manner to act as a brand ambassador which flexes and is appropriate for the specific client cultures and circumstances.
