Role: Senior Consultant – Life Cycle Assessments (LCA)

Location: Remote - USA or Canada based

Practice Area: Sustainable Production & Consumption

Contract: Full-time

Remuneration Range: $80,000 - 100,000 (Please note salary is paid in local currency USD/CAD)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Helping clients in diverse sectors including the tech sector to design, implement and manage material & product sustainability projects with a focus on LCA aspects
  • Performing complex LCAs in the context of wide-ranging projects 
  • Performing detailed calculations to find material flows, greenhouse gas emissions, ecological footprints and other environmental, economic and social metrics
  • Delivering business value to our clients 
  • Project and client line management 
  • Build expertise in the team through mentoring and training 
  • Technical research and results dissemination

Summary of Role:

We are seeking a Senior Consultant to work on Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) projects across various sectors including digital technology and devices. They will join our Global Centre of Excellence for Analytics and work with a team of analysts specializing in sustainable products and circularity. As such, they will have the opportunity to expand their LCA expertise beyond the traditional LCA metrics to a set of complex issues surrounding products sustainability.

Key Requirements:

  • Previous background or passion for sustainability preferred.
  • Curious, globally minded, and enthusiastic.
  • Organised, methodical, and analytical.
  • Effective time management and organisational skills. Ability to respond positively to pressure and take a flexible approach to a dynamic, fast moving and changing work environment.
  • Work well with a wide range of people on a global basis.
  • Proactive with the ability and confidence to use initiative.
  • Well presented with a professional manner to act as a brand ambassador which flexes and is appropriate for the specific client environment and circumstances.

Knowledge, Education & Desired Qualifications:

  • 4 – 6 years’ experience in delivering complex LCAs.
  • Experience in the tech sector an advantage.
  • Education: engineering or science bachelor’s degree minimum. Inclusive of mechanical, software, industrial, and chemical engineering.
  • Excellent analytical skills applying various LCA software. We would expect extensive experience in one of the main tools including GaBi, openLCA or SimaPro etc. and advanced competency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Demonstrable client management and business development skills.
  • Strong communication and consulting skills.
  • Project management skills: ensuring projects are delivered on time, to budget and to client expectations.
  • Effective time management and organisational skills, with the ability to stick to deadlines and clarity on the need for prioritisation.
  • Work well with a wide range of people on a global basis.
