Remuneration Range: $80,000 - 100,000 USD / $78,000 - 100,000 CAD

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management – As a Senior Consultant in our Water Stewardship Service Line, you will be expected to manage the delivery of client engagements targeted at improving water and nature-based performance and disclosures. You will be responsible for these projects being on time, budget, and schedule. You will be managing several projects at any one time, each with their own dedicated project teams.
  • Client Management – Working with a senior client manager, you will share responsibility for managing client expectations as well helping them optimize value through projects to drive continuous, strategic improvement. You will work to develop a trusted advisor relationship with all clients and focus relentlessly on helping them be successful in defining and achieving their sustainability goals.
  • Water Stewardship Expertise – You will be responsible for supporting clients in conducting water accounting/footprinting, water risk assessments, goal/target setting, and developing and implementing water stewardship strategy across diverse projects and sectors/industries.
  • Creative Communication – You will need to be proficient and effective at communicating the client’s sustainability purpose, commitments, and performance, in a way that is credible and authentic, while balancing the technical requirements and the creative aspects of reporting.
  • Business Development – You will be contributing to and developing proposals for potential clients and projects and represent Anthesis during interviews as the consultancy best positioned to support. You will also be expanding scopes of engagement and support with existing clients, helping them drive their sustainability agenda.

Summary of Role:

Anthesis Group is seeking a Senior Consultant to join our growing Water Stewardship team and act as our Water Footprint Lead, while also heavily focusing on Science Based Target Network’s Freshwater methodology. This person will be a dynamic and agile professional with experience in water accounting/footprinting, water risk assessments, previous consulting and creative communication! The daily responsibilities include, but are not limited to, managing the client engagements targeted at improving water & nature-based performance and disclosures.

Key Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience as a sustainability practitioner, with expertise in water stewardship within a company’s direct operations and value chain
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Science-Based Target Network’s freshwater methodology and experience with value chain water accounting (quantity and quality) and blue/green/grey water footprinting aligned with ISO 14046, WFN’s Water Footprint Assessment Manual, and the Alliance for Water Stewardship (AWS) Standard
  • Expertise in conducting nature-related impacts and dependencies assessments across freshwater and biodiversity
  • Experience conducting basin-level and local/operational water risk assessments, including use of publicly available water risk and valuation tools such as WRI’s Aqueduct tools (Water Risk Atlas, Food, Floods), WWF’s Risk Filter Suite, Ecolab-Trucost’s Water Risk Monetizer, and Ceres’ Aqua Gauge)
  • Nature-related risk assessment experience (ENCORE, EXIOBASE, Bioscope, IBAT, STAR)
  • Demonstrated expertise in nature-related reporting particularly as it pertains to water, including CDP, GRI, DJSI, SASB, TNFD, etc.
  • Excellent analytical skills and advanced competency in Microsoft Excel
  • Volumetric water benefit accounting experience
  • A personable and passionate individual that works well with teams.
  • Comfortable and confident liaising with key stakeholders across all levels of a business.
  • An ability to manage a variety of projects at any one time.
