Role: Senior LCA Analyst

Location: Flexibly remote from one of our UK hubs (London, Bristol, Oxford, Manchester, Edinburgh or Harrogate)

Responsibilities 

  • Performing complex LCAs in the context of wide-ranging projects  
  • Performing detailed calculations to find material flows, greenhouse gas emissions, ecological footprints and other environmental, economic and social metrics, as may be required  
  • Delivering business value to our clients  
  • Project, client and line management  
  • Build expertise in the team through mentoring and training  
  • Technical research and results dissemination  
  • Write proposals for new business, in collaboration with the existing team 
  • Be independent in engaging with a wide variety of clients, often in senior roles within their business. 
  • You will be writing technical reports, drawing on expertise from across the wider team, and rest of the business. 
  • Attend client meetings, where necessary, for the development of opportunities and project delivery. 
  • Manage multiple projects independently with minimal supervision to meet tight deadlines. 
  • Learn and develop your technical expertise, supported by our technical directors across the sustainability teams as well as mentor more junior consultants including providing line management, where necessary. 
  • Contribute to Anthesis’s innovation and thought leadership around LCA

Summary of Role 

Lifecycle Analysis lies at the heart of our work, and Anthesis operates one of the largest LCA teams in the world.  Using LCA, we help our clients to quantify the environmental impacts of their products and services, understand where, why and how these impacts occur, and critically, use these insights to develop ambitious impact reduction strategies.

We are seeking a Senior Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) Analyst to join our UK LCA team, and expand our impact. We’re looking for someone who not only has LCA expertise, but will bring a passion for sustainability and drive for environmental impact that matches the spirit of our team. You’ll work across a wide range of projects, helping clients to understand and reduce their impacts through data-driven solutions. 

Requirements 

  • Excellent project management and some team leadership 
  • Excellent analytical skills applying various LCA software. We would expect extensive experience in one of the main tools including GaBi, openLCA or SimaPro etc. and advanced competency in Microsoft Excel  
  • Strong numeracy with comfortable use of modeling and data manipulation tools 
  • 3-5+ years’ experience in delivering LCA projects either in-house or in a consultancy environment  
  • A passion and success in delighting clients, preferably within a corporate context while challenging them to deliver maximum sustainability impact. 
  • Strong communication and consulting skills; particularly an understanding of the sustainability challenges that organisations face in today’s climate. 
  • Active and encouraging team player that celebrates and applied the diversity of skills and personalities in a team.

  • Driven to deliver a positive sustainability impact; 
  • Previous background or passion for additional sustainability specialism preferred; 
  • Curious, globally minded and enthusiastic; 
  • Effective time management and organisational skills. Ability to respond positively to pressure and take a flexible approach to a dynamic, fast moving and changing work environment; 
  • Work well with a wide range of people on a global basis.
