Remuneration Range: Senior Consultant - $80,000 - 100,000 / Principal Consultant - $100,000 - 120,000 (Please note salary is paid in local currency USD/CAD)

Client Management

  • Identify sustainable performance challenges and opportunities
  • Develop and lead innovative programs of work
  • Leverage our solutions, services, and subject matter experts
  • Lead client relationships and ensure accountability and quality
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to your team members

Service Area / Solution / Team Management

  • Contribute to the continued development of Anthesis’ strategy engagement methods and practices
  • Help evolve and expand our sustainable performance strategy go to market activities in key sectors
  • Collaborate with Anthesis solution leaders to improve their services and tools to better meet client needs
  • Identify new approaches and solutions that address emerging sustainability challenges our clients face
  • Ensure the financial and strategic success of key client accounts
  • Convene and manage client and project teams
  • Take an active role in mentoring and developing staff, participate in recruitment efforts
  • Identify and deliver thought leadership opportunities, including presenting at conferences, on webinars, writing blogs, white papers, and participating in industry forums, etc.

Summary of the Role

We are looking for to make two hires at either Senior Consultant or Principal Consultant level to join our growing Sustainability Strategy team, which supports Anthesis’ global offerings by bringing innovative sustainability solutions to clients. As part of the Strategy team, your role will be client-facing, and you will be helping clients to: define what sustainable performance means for their business; identify and agree on strategic goals; support implementation of a range of actions and programs across their value chain; and, as appropriate, assist in monitoring and managing progress over time.

We are ideally looking for candidates with materiality assessment and strategy experience, who have been specially been involved in setting corporate goals.

Your projects and clients may span a diverse set of industries, ranging from Fortune 500 companies to boutique brands and start-ups.  You will leverage our service teams and subject matter experts to ensure clients receive our best solutions and technical advice. Whether you are solving complex challenges or helping a client define renewed purpose, you will be joining an engaged, collaborative community that approaches its work with energy and optimism.

Key Requirements

Our ideal candidate will be someone who wants to contribute to, and flourish in a team working at the leading edge of sustainability

  • Senior Consultant 4-6 years’ experience // Principal Consultant 7-9 years’ experience as a strategy or program manager either inhouse or within a consultancy,
  • Background in sustainability/ESG and/or a business consulting background with a deep interest in sustainability,
  • Ability to work at and navigate all levels of an organization, driving decisions and direction through influence, including executive and senior business stakeholders,
  • High degree of commercial awareness,
  • Highly organized with strong project management skills,
  • Rigorous thinking with deep analytical skills and ability to creatively problem-solve,
  • Clear and precise written communications and facility with data analysis to extract insights,
  • Strong interpersonal skills, and
  • Professional presence with the ability to quickly establish personal credibility.

Knowledge, Education & Desired Qualifications:

  • Leading strategies and processes for transformation and change
  • Cross-functional program management
  • Strategic planning or risk management
  • Brand strategy and activations
  • Financial analysis and business case development
  • Implementing digital solutions to drive quality, efficiency, and scale
  • Sustainability program management*:
    • Materiality assessment and strategy
    • ESG goal setting and performance frameworks
    • Governance, reporting, and disclosure
    • Employee and supplier engagement
    • Net zero carbon, circular business models, and zero waste programs
    • Social equity, diversity, and justice programs
    • *Sustainability program experience is desired, but not an essential requirement for the role.
