At Anthesis, we don’t just talk about sustainability, we activate.

When it comes to our own environmental, social and cultural impact, both internally and externally, we always strive to ‘walk the talk’.

We have dedicated global steering committees that drive our Diversity & Inclusion and Corporate Social Responsibility and programmes, working together to embrace our shared goals and deliver a positive impact worldwide.

At Anthesis, we believe that diversity, in all its forms, brings great benefit to our business. When we engage with different perspectives, backgrounds and skills we make better decisions, we serve our clients well and we enrich our individual and collective experience.

Recognising that the diverse talent of our colleagues at all stages of their careers is our greatest strength, we operate on the basis of unity not uniformity and we cultivate an inclusive & respectful culture that supports all of our employees in fulfilling their potential.

Diversity & Inclusion (D&I)

Our Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) programme is driven by a dedicated global steering committee supported by regional working groups. Our agenda is guided by feedback from Anthesis colleagues, and underpinned by three core principles:

  • Maintaining a culture where everyone feels they belong
  • Nurturing a more diverse Anthesis
  • Driving a gender balance at all levels


To promote and support diversity across the business, unconscious bias training is available for all colleagues. Unconscious bias screening is now a standard part of our recruitment process in the UK and we are expanding this initiative across the business.

Celebrating Diversity

We recognise and celebrate events from across the D&I calendar. Most recently these have included profiling women from across the business for International Women’s Day, sharing colleagues’ experiences with dyslexia for Dyslexia Awareness Week, and celebrating cultural events including Chinese New Year, Diwali, and Passover.

Employee Networks

We are working to establish global employee networks to ensure our diverse groups are recognised and celebrated. This will begin with the launch of our LGBTQ+ Network this year.

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)

CSR is at the heart of our ethos and each employee is personally committed to sustainability and actively looks for ways to make a difference. It’s what we call the Spirit of Anthesis; a sharing of values and common purpose in the way we operate, a determination to play a part in the decisive decade. This empowers and motivates our talented teams to deliver value and drive positive impact to our colleagues, clients, communities and the environment.

Global CSR Programme & Committee

Our global CSR group is formed of regional representatives from across our worldwide locations who ensure our CSR programme is pushed forward and rolled out locally.

Some of the ways we deliver value and drive impact include:

  • Regional wellbeing programmes to support our employees’ physical and mental health
  • Volunteering and fundraising opportunities to support local communities
  • Training and development to promote individual growth and support client engagement
  • Annual employee survey to measure progression and highlight areas for improvement
  • Extra Mile Award schemes to recognise colleagues for their outstanding contributions

Sustainability Policy and Reporting

We are committed to running our global business in a responsible way, minimising any negative environmental and social impact as much as possible. Transparency is a core value of our organisation and we are keen to communicate our Sustainability Policy and progress with all stakeholders.

Our UK business is a member of the UNGC. We produce an annual COP report to monitor progress towards our commitment to the ten UNGC principles. Read our latest report.

SDG2 Zero Hunger Campaign 2019/2020

Throughout 2019-2020, we’ve run a global employee engagement campaign to focus our CSR efforts on the UN Sustainable Development Goal 2 of Zero Hunger. The initiative focuses on the three key pillars of Education, Engagement and Innovation, with colleagues from each region driving their own local initiatives and activities to support this important sustainable development goal.
