Principal Consultant, North America

Liam is a Principal Consultant with over 8 years’ experience helping institutional investors, financial regulators, and climate-focused civil society groups devise policies to accelerate the transition to net-zero carbon emissions. He has advised financial institutions on effective actions they can take – both on their own and through investor coalitions – to achieve net-zero portfolio emissions.

Prior to Anthesis, Liam worked at CDP where he helped develop a science-based target-setting methodology for financial institutions. He also worked with investors to effectively engage with corporates on climate-related issues and collaborated with policymakers at various levels in formulating standardized climate regulations.

In February 2022, Liam was seconded to a GFANZ workstream that identified practitioner-oriented components of a net-zero financial institution transition plan. Liam managed CDP’s involvement with initiatives such as the Partnership for Carbon Accounting Financials, the Net Zero Asset Managers initiative, and The Investor Agenda.

Liam holds a master’s degree from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University, with a focus on international security studies and sustainable finance.
