Debbie leads the Sustainable Production & Consumption team with an extensive understanding of sustainability, resource efficiency, product stewardship and circular economy. In 2022, Debbie continued to use the Wise Women in Waste podcast to explore the changing landscape of the waste, resources and circularity sector and champion the voice of women. Debbie has established herself as one of the go-to people when it comes to circular packaging and plastics, including reducing plastic waste, assessing plastic packaging and implementing a financially-driven strategy.

With over 20 years of experience across the waste and circular economy agenda, Claudia leads the global commercial waste due diligence, waste infrastructure and plastics recycling services at Anthesis. She provides in-depth knowledge of value chain and value creation studies and route-to-market and business plan development for new waste projects, re-financing opportunities and acquisitions. In 2022, Claudia supported a number of high-profile reports on advanced plastics recycling and continued to host the Wise Women in Waste podcast to explore the changing landscape of the waste, resources and circularity sector and champion the voice of women.

With over two decades in waste and resource management, Simone brings with her an abundance of waste experience and operational understanding from both the public and private sectors and as a regulator. Her commercial insight and industry recognition has led her to become a trusted source of waste market due diligence advice.

Dr Julian Parfitt is a true food waste guru, recognised on an international level for his expertise. Working in the waste industry for nearly four decades, Julian’s achievements stretch far and wide, including carrying out roles as a member of the United Nations Environment Expert Group on SDG Indicator 12.3.1, team leader on UK Government’s Foresight Review ‘Future of Food and Farming’ (2010) and working with the House of Lords as Specialist Adviser on their review of European food waste prevention policy (2014). In 2022, Julian worked with a team of experts to deliver WWF's latest food waste report, ‘Hidden Waste: The Scale and Impact of Food Waste in Primary Production’, which uncovers the scale of edible food going to waste on UK farms and actions that the UK food system can take to support farmers in reducing waste.

Hannah is the UK lead for Circular Economy. Her specialism is waste modelling, and she has developed bespoke models and tools for various clients depending on their requirements. She deals predominantly with the use of waste data to better understand and help develop more sustainable waste management solutions for her clients. She is able to collate, scrutinise and manipulate data, and able to research and make appropriate assumptions, enabling options to be modelled using data based on evidence, and use the outputs to reach conclusions relevant for the client. She has supported a range of public sector clients, through number of surveys and large scale national reviews which have gone onto inform waste policy in the UK. Hannah also uses her fluency in the waste market to support private sector clients improve their own resource efficiency through understanding the waste they generate, what they put onto the market and how this can be better managed.

Jamie Warmington has over 10 years of experience in the waste and resource sector. He is a recognised waste expert and member of the Defra/Industry Waste Data Group. He uses his knowledge, combined with his economics background, to deliver a range of insightful projects that apply waste and other data across systems and value chains. Jamie is known for his modelling expertise and works extensively with all forms of waste and material flow data on behalf of different clients, including infrastructure investors and developers, regulators, local authorities and the waste management sector. Jamie has a strong interest in the development and application of new technology to improve and automate data collection and leads Anthesis’ digital development within the waste and resource efficiency area. He has also developed contacts with technology and hardware providers to understand how these technologies could be applied to track obligated products and items as they flow through the waste management system.

Beth has over 17 years of experience in the resource management sector and has deep practical knowledge and experience of downstream recycling, which has been built up during ten years of working with local authorities and waste contractors on all aspects of their recycling services. She has provided clients support with designing and implementing new recycling collection services, developing and running citizen communication and behaviour changes programmes and review service performance data. Beth now applies this knowledge of the downstream recycling supply chain to support clients on all aspects of sustainable packaging, with a particular focus on plastics, working with a wide range of clients including FMCG brands, trade bodies, pharmaceuticals, retailers, waste collection contractors and local government.
