To identify chemicals which could potentially represent a concern for Target Corporation’s supply chain, Anthesis developed a comprehensive chemicals list comprised of 23 NGO, industry, and regulatory restricted lists representative of Target’s product mix.
There are approximately 100,000– 200,000 different chemical substances (including polymers) traded between businesses and in our everyday products. Around 200 of these have already been identified by global regulatory schemes as Substances of Concern; in the next 10 years, this figure will likely rise to 2,000.
Most organisations buy chemicals – either directly or within products – so it is crucial to understand your compliance responsibilities and the associated risks of non-compliance. Our approach is based on deep subject matter expertise with a combination of industry and government experience to implement approaches that deliver meaningful and lasting environmental, social, and economic benefits.
How we do it
- Regulatory compliance – including consulting, classification, REACH, Only Representation and notification services.
- Targeted substance support – including consulting and advisory services, tracking Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC), and support on TSCA reform.
- Sustainable procurement, green chemistry, chemical management and green claims.
- Other services – addressing contaminated materials, advising on safe disposal and working in accordance with the Montreal and Kyoto protocols.
Anthesis has over 15 years’ experience in offering a wide range of chemical management services and solutions to support organisations working across the globe.
Our chemical strategy will be one of the most comprehensive in the U.S. retail industry, including all Target-owned and national brand products and operations, not just formulated products.
