Breakfast Session: Life Cycle Assessment (LCA): From Raw Material to Green Claim

A practical morning on LCA, ISO standards, and Scope 3

Date: woensdag 3 juni 2026

Time: 08:30-11:00

abstract material

Sustainability claims are under increasing scrutiny. With the Green Claims Directive approaching and investors demanding robust, verifiable Scope 3 data, a sound life cycle assessment (LCA) methodology is no longer a nice to have. It is the foundation of every credible sustainability claim.

Anthesis invites you to a focused yet substantial morning session that connects theory directly with practice, moving from the technical rigour of LCA through to its application in communications, compliance and portfolio strategy.

Over breakfast and conversation, we’ll cover:

  • LCA in depth – What is a life cycle assessment in practice, and which methodological choices really matter? We will examine system boundaries, allocation approaches and impact categories, and explain how these decisions influence outcomes.
  • ISO standards & Green Claims – How does an LCA underpin a legally defensible and credible green claim? We will explore the relevant ISO standards for LCA (ISO 14040/44 and ISO 14067) and what the Green Claims Directive means for sustainability communications.
  • LCA and Scope 3 – How do LCA and Scope 3 reporting reinforce one another? We will show how LCA data can strengthen the quality of a Scope 3 inventory, and how Scope 3 insights can, in turn, improve LCA results.

This session is particularly suited to professionals working in product sustainability, sustainability reporting or green marketing who want a deeper understanding of the methodological foundations behind claims that stand up to scrutiny.
