Sustainability claims are now under close scrutiny. With the Green Claims Directive on the horizon and investors increasingly demanding robust, verifiable Scope 3 data, a credible LCA methodology is no longer a nice-to-have. It is the foundation of any sustainability claim that stands up to challenge.
Anthesis invites you to a focused but substantive morning session that connects theory directly to practice. We will explore the technical rigour of life cycle assessment and, crucially, how LCA insight translates into communication, compliance and portfolio decision-making.
Over breakfast and discussion, we will cover:
- LCA in depth: What is a life cycle assessment, really, and which methodological choices matter most? We will explore system boundaries, allocation approaches and impact categories, and why these decisions fundamentally shape outcomes.
- ISO standards and green claims: How does an LCA become a legally defensible and credible green claim? We will examine the ISO standards for LCA (ISO 14040/44 and ISO 14067) and unpack what the Green Claims Directive means in practice for sustainability communications.
- LCA and Scope 3: How do LCA and Scope 3 reporting reinforce each other? We will show how LCA data can significantly improve the quality and credibility of Scope 3 inventories, and how Scope 3 reporting can, in turn, strengthen LCA work.
This session is particularly relevant for professionals working in product sustainability, reporting or green marketing who want to understand the methodological foundations behind claims that will stand up to regulatory, investor and stakeholder scrutiny.
