Stefan Åström is CEO of Anthesis’ Sweden. Stefan holds a PhD in Energy and Environment from Chalmers University of Technology and a Master’s degree in Environmental Science and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, both from the University of Gothenburg.
Stefan has been working on applied science and inquiry projects in the integrated field of economics, air pollution and climate change since 2004 with a focus on international environmental policy development. He has good experience in analysing future emission reduction options, estimating emission reduction costs and calculating the monetary values of improved environmental performance. He has extensive experience in European applied research and has led bilateral applied research projects with Swedish, Belarusian, Russian, Serbian and Ukrainian project partners.
He has also participated in several EU-funded and Swedish research projects. Countries Stefan has worked in include Sweden, Kenya and Austria, and he is since 2013 co-chair of the Air Pollution Convention Working Group on Integrated Decision Support Modelling (TFIAM). He has authored and co-authored more than 60 reports and 13 peer-reviewed articles and regularly gives presentations to various audiences, as well as lectures at Chalmers University of Technology and the University of Gothenburg.
