Conducting ESRS Gap Analysis for Holland & Barrett

Anthesis supported Holland & Barrett with an ESRS gap analysis exercise, providing us with an understanding of our readiness to report against the CSRD. The outputs have been clear and helpful, and we are able to use them as an evidence base to further progress on ESG as part of our business strategy.”

Richard Mason – Head of ESG, Holland & Barrett

Situation

Anthesis has been working with Holland & Barrett since 2022, providing a range of services across strategy and reporting, carbon footprint, packaging, and responsible sourcing. We have recently assessed Holland & Barrett’s readiness to report against the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). This involved identifying reporting requirements, assessing what is currently in place and whether it meets requirements, and providing recommendations to close gaps in disclosure.

Solution

This project followed previous work with Holland & Barrett on strategy, through a materiality assessment to identify the most important sustainability-related topics for their business, and where the organisation should be concentrating its focus and strategy as a result.

Impact

Through this work, we were able to feed into the Holland & Barrett’s central strategy refresh, providing advice on how ESG and sustainability can act as a key enabler across its other business priorities, ensuring integration and accountability for ESG throughout the business.
