Reducing EPR Fees for The Marzetti Company

The Situation

Marzetti engaged Anthesis to support its compliance with emerging packaging Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) laws in the United States.

This was the first time Marzetti had dealt with EPR reporting, and the company needed support in understanding what data was necessary and how to translate this data for proper reporting, starting with Oregon.

Our Solutions

During the data review, Anthesis identified that the resulting estimated fines were much larger than expected.

Anthesis conducted a review of the data to determine if there were any notable outliers that could be the cause of an increased fee.

The team identified the sales volume used for the fee calculation to be much higher than expected. Anthesis presented their analysis to Marzetti, and the corrected sales volume value was confirmed.

In my portfolio of partners to date, Anthesis stands out as elite and among the best.
