Johnny has worked in several technical fields within the real estate industry, both in Sweden and the UK, and is a well-known advisor in the European real estate market. Since 2007, he has successfully built a team that works with strategic advisory for acquisitions or sales, but also with associated management issues or development projects. He was also one of the first in the Nordic transaction market to be able to combine Due Diligence services with analyses of ESG factors such as energy performance, climate risks, biodiversity and analyses of the impact of the property market on climate change. He has been part of the Anthesis ESG Advisory team since 2024.
With increased ambitions and stricter regulations within sustainability reporting, backed by the EU taxonomy and the CSRD directive, the issue of sustainability has become an important factor for real estate funds and their investors. In line with the gradual tightening of the new reporting rules, it is particularly important for real estate companies to analyse the sustainability potential of a property even before acquisition. With this, we can see how well the property matches the ESG performance of the existing stock and, if necessary, allocate a budget that can be used by the financial management to implement green improvements so that the property does not lose value. For property companies that are new to their sustainability journey, Johnny has also been responsible for projects where proposals for measurable parameters have been developed, specially adapted to the companies’ business model and sustainability policies.
Johnny has worked with all types of clients from venture capital companies, foreign pension funds to municipal property companies, and has analysed everything from skyscrapers to regular offices – to industrial buildings for the food industry. He is passionate about understanding his clients’ challenges and business strategies in order to best tailor his services to their level of ambition. Johnny is a civil engineer with a degree from Chalmers University of Technology, lives in Stockholm but considers both London and Gothenburg as his second homes.
