Signol and Anthesis announce strategic alliance to drive positive environmental and commercial impact through behavioural science
17 June 2020 — Anthesis, the sustainability activator, and Signol, the behavioural insights engine, today announced a strategic business alliance to support the reduction in carbon emissions and increase energy efficiencies across aviation, shipping, road transportation and the built environment through behavioural science.
Combining the sustainability leadership and geographical reach of Anthesis with Signol’s innovative behavioural change technologies, the alliance will provide organisations with access to the science and data analytics behind human decision making and the tools to transform employee behaviours for competitive and environmental advantage.
Founded on the idea that small changes can add up to huge differences by ‘nudging’ employees to make better decisions, Signol’s customisable software platform uses behavioural economics and data science to cut fuel waste plus energy and save firms millions of dollars. Initially designed for the aviation industry, Signol’s proprietary software focuses on fuel efficiency by analysing operational data and provides feedback and personalised targets to pilots to help reduce CO₂ emissions. Past successes include Virgin Atlantic, achieving a $6.1m saving in fuel costs and 24,000 tons of CO₂ emissions cut in an eight-month period.
This alliance further supports Anthesis’ focus on utilising new and emerging technologies to drive sustainable performance. With more than twenty software solutions developed in-house, from greenhouse gas calculators to waste tracking tools, Anthesis also collaborates with innovative and progressive technology companies that share its purpose and vision for a more productive and resilient world.
“ Targeting the right people with the right information at the right time, this technology has the potential to revolutionise the aviation, shipping, built environment, trucking and rail industries. “
Anthesis Executive Director and Chief Sustainability Officer Paul Crewe says: “Signol’s innovative and intuitive technology empowers people that have accountability for fuel and energy, be that a pilot, captain, driver or building manager to make safe but significant changes, resulting in significant sustainable rewards. Targeting the right people with the right information at the right time, this technology has the potential to revolutionise the aviation, shipping, built environment, trucking and rail industries.”
Dan White, Signol’s CEO added: “Since day one, Anthesis have been amazing to work with. They’re open-minded, mission-driven and collaborative. We are super excited and proud to be part of this relationship, and I am certain that this will be far greater in impact than the sum of its parts – a mouth-watering prospect for any company wanting high profit and environmental impact returns quickly.”
