Franz Rentel is a carbon markets and sustainability professional with over 20 years of experience developing and scaling carbon projects across Africa and internationally. His expertise spans carbon project origination, deal structuring, financial modelling, and complex stakeholder engagement.
As Director of Carbon Projects Africa at Anthesis, Franz leads the development of carbon offset projects across the continent. He is also Managing Director of Anthesis South Africa, the group’s legal operating entity in the country.
He is passionate about using carbon finance to unlock scalable climate impact in Africa, with a particular focus on nature-based solutions, including Anthesis’s flagship AgriCarbon programme.
