Jake is a Partner in Anthesis’ Singapore office, where he supports the firm’s regional operations and helps manage client relationships with leading corporates, law firms and private equity firms. He oversees complex disputes, M&A due diligence exercises and strategic intelligence cases throughout APAC, having developed those relationship during a period working in Hong Kong.
Prior to Hong Kong, Jake was a Director in London where he worked on in-depth integrity diligence, litigation support investigations, and ESG-focused impact assessments. His prior experience ranges from supporting external counsel on a multi-billion US dollar debt recovery action against a global commodities trader, to pro bono work assisting a leading impact investor looking to strengthen micro-financing access for refugee communities.
An Arabist by training, Jake began his career focused on the Middle East, with a particular interest in FCPA and sanctions concerns in the Gulf, Egypt and Iran. Previously Jake spent three years at Stroz Friedberg were he ran multi-jurisdictional investigations and diligence assignments, and managed one of the firm’s key client accounts with a major international investment bank. Jake began his career at two other risk consultancies in London where he focused on business, political and security risk in the Middle East and sub-Saharan Africa.
Jake has a bachelor’s degree in Arabic and Farsi from the University of London’s School of Oriental and African Studies, and has lived and worked in Egypt, Syria and the UAE. He speaks Arabic and Farsi.
