Karine is a chemical engineer with over 17 years of experience in science-based sustainability. She spent eight years leading in-house sustainability at a fashion footwear company, where she spearheaded product decarbonization and circularity initiatives grounded in life cycle thinking. With deep expertise in the apparel and footwear industry, Karine has a comprehensive understanding of key impact areas including circularity, climate change, responsible sourcing, traceability, and green chemistry.
As the North American Lead for LCA & Impact Measurement, she helps clients identify environmental hotspots and quantify the benefits of impact reduction strategies using life cycle assessment (LCA).
Karine has contributed to the development of product footprinting tools with Cascale (formerly the Sustainable Apparel Coalition), serves on the advisory council of the Material Innovation Initiative, and is the author or co-author of numerous peer-reviewed LCA studies.
