Michael Lenaghan

Michael is Director of Impact Intelligence at Anthesis, leading a multidisciplinary team delivering product and value chain insights across lifecycle assessment (LCA), product carbon footprinting (PCF), Scope 3, circularity, green claims, and emerging regulation, including CBAM.

His work focuses on turning complex analysis into scalable actions that improve environmental performance while strengthening commercial outcomes and regulatory confidence. He has provided technical leadership on initiatives including Amazon’s Climate Pledge Friendly programme, French carbon score compliance for global pharmaceutical companies, and CBAM readiness and mitigation across a range of sectors.

Michael has played a leading role in developing Anthesis Intelligence’s Product Assessment platform, which enables LCA and PCF at portfolio scale, and has driven the integration of AI and automation into environmental data and insight generation to improve speed, consistency, and decision usefulness.

Before joining Anthesis, Michael was Environmental Policy Advisor at Zero Waste Scotland, where he contributed to national policy on circular economy, decarbonisation, and sustainable resource use, and led delivery of Scotland’s Carbon Metric and Material Flows Account. Michael holds an MSc in Ecological Economics from the University of Edinburgh and a BA in Environmental Studies and Political Science from the University of Victoria.
