Sustainability cannot be delivered by the ‘sustainability’ team alone. It needs operational co‑conspirators, financial collaborators, joint chiefs of innovation, impact storytellers, legal imaginators.

How sustainability leaders work with the rest of the business matters – and these partnerships are what turn ambition into performance.

At London Climate Action Week, we’ll explore two new global research reports: The Shape of Sustainability and Show Me the Value of Sustainable Marketing. Together they offer insight and inspiration for how sustainability teams can drive change across functions.

The Shape of Sustainability:

This forthcoming report takes the views of 2,000 employees and 200 sustainability leaders to explore the future shape of the sustainability role required to navigate these complex times.

You’ll hear first-hand how sustainability teams are viewed across the business, where collaboration is working, and where it is falling short. Because when collaboration breaks down, performance often does too.

Show Me the Value of Sustainable Marketing:

We’ll then explore the relationship between sustainability, marketing and value creation. This session will draw on the first output from a new global research project developed by the World Federation of Advertisers (WFA) in partnership with Revolt – part of Anthesis, the Future of Marketing Initiative at Oxford’s Saïd Business School and Kantar’s Sustainable Transformation Practice.

We will unpack key themes from the research, sharing examples of how sustainability and marketing leaders can collaborate to unlock the value effects that sustainability marketing can offer brands.

Finally, we’ll be joined by a panel of sustainability and marketing leaders to explore effective cross-functional relationships within business, before breaking for drinks and networking.

In this in-person session, we will show:

  • The capabilities that drive sustainable performance
  • What is slowing teams down across functions
  • Where collaboration with marketing and other functions creates commercial value
  • The partnerships that sustainability teams need to deliver business and impact outcomes

Leave with a clear view of where to focus, who to align with, and what needs to change to deliver performance.
