Tim Clare

Tim is Anthesis’ Global lead for our Transactions & Sustainable Finance Solution, based in London. Tim is responsible for our M&A due diligence offer and our wider Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) and Responsible Investment advisory support to Financial Institutions, including the development and roll-out of ESG, sustainability-linked or categorised financial products, from investment funds to bonds and loans. Our support also extends to corporates seeking to manage ESG aspects as part of accessing capital, whether specifically ESG linked or during an IPO or similar fundraising.

Tim has over 25 years of experience in environmental and sustainability consulting, starting in waste minimisation and management and EIA before moving into M&A and wider transactional support. In transactions, Tim has over 20 years of experience, starting with traditional risks around “end-of-pipe” compliance, contamination and other legacy issues, before broadening into wider sustainability topics. Tim was an early mover into ESG, advising on the topic for over 10 years.

Tim currently sits on the British Private Equity & Venture Capital Association’s (BVCA) Responsible Investment Advisory Group.
